Title: You Came Back.

Body:

Let me tell you something about reviews.

I read every single one. Not in a scroll-past, quick-glance kind of way. I mean, I get that oh my gosh, there is a review feeling every time I see the email pop up. I am always curious to see if my product met the expectations. Hopefully exceeded them.

Right now, Daylin Skye Designs has 544 reviews. Every single one of them is five stars.

Okay. Can I say that again? Every single one is five stars.

I am not saying that to brag. Okay, maybe a little. But mostly I am saying it because I genuinely work very hard for every single star, and I think that is worth talking about.

Here is the thing about a one-woman shop. There is no team to catch my mistakes. No quality control department. No second set of hands double-checking the stitching before it ships. It is just me, my studio, my tools, and the voice of my dad in the back of my head reminding me to do my best even when no one is watching. That has been the whole operation since 2011. Very glamorous. Very chaotic. Very mine.

Growing up, I was told a story about ten people who were all given something they desperately needed. Something life-changing. Something they had been hoping and praying for. And when they received it, nine of them went on their way. Just kept moving. Got what they came for and disappeared into their lives. But one came back. One stopped, turned around, and said thank you. And that one person, out of ten, was the one who was remembered.

I think about that story a lot. Especially on the days when a review comes in.

Because here is the truth. Most people who love something never say so out loud. They wear the bag, they use it every day, they tell their friend about it over coffee, and that is where it stays. Which is completely fine and also human nature and I am not judging anyone because I do the same thing with products I love. But when someone takes the extra step to come back and put words to it, that is the one out of ten. And I feel it every single time.

Since I opened my Shopify shop eight years ago, nearly 6,000 pieces have left this studio. And that does not even count the years before that, when I was selling on other ecommerce platforms. Nearly 6,000 bags, pouches, wallets, and totes, cut and stitched by one set of hands in a home studio in San Diego. And 544 people came back to say something. If you do that math, that is almost exactly one out of ten. That story I grew up hearing is playing out right here, in my review inbox, in real life.

So when Hollie left a review for her Alegria Flat Tote and said the smell of the leather is addictive and that she will always come back, I tucked that away in my heart. Hollie has been around for a while with Daylin Skye. She has multiple bags. She knows what she is talking about. And she is still out here telling people they will not regret it. Hollie, I would genuinely like to put you on payroll. Truly.

Shannon called her custom Kindness an heirloom. An actual heirloom. Something she plans to carry for the rest of her life. I made that in my house in San Diego. With my hands. On a regular Tuesday. That word just sat with me.

Carly wrote about her Classic Fanny and described the moment you open the box, smell the leather, and stuff it full of purse junk. That is the most perfect sentence about my work. Purse junk. Yes. That is exactly the life I am making these for.

Billie Jo watched the video of me making her bag, saw every stitch going in, and said she will not buy another bag from anyone else. Now that is high praise.

Lisa said the craftsmanship and softness of the leather is unreal. Evy said her bag arrived and she was over the moon, and that she fully trusted my craft.

I keep coming back to that phrase. Fully trusted my craft.

That is not a small thing to hand someone. Trust is not cheap. And when a stranger on the internet decides to spend real money on something a solo maker in San Diego cut and stitched by hand, and then takes the time to come back and say it was worth it, that is everything. That is the whole reason.

544 reviews. All five stars. Quality has always been my passion. But here is what I can tell you with full confidence. If you leave a review, it will be five stars. Because if for some reason it cannot be, I will make it right. Life is too short to be stuck with a bag you do not like.

If you have already left one, thank you. Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, in the most non-dramatic way I can say it while also being a little dramatic about it. You came back. You are the one out of ten. You have no idea how much those words are affirmation that I am doing something right.

And if you have been meaning to write one and just have not gotten around to it, I would love that. Not for me, but for the next person standing on the edge of the product page, trying to decide if they should trust a one-woman shop with something they really want. Your words might be the whole reason they do.

That is a powerful thing, what you leave behind when you take a minute to say something true.
