While working a corporate job, I was just looking for a stylish way to carry my new iPad. I ended up designing a simple crossbody bag, clean lines, just enough structure, and a bit of personal flair. I wore it into the office, and before I knew it, coworkers were asking for their own. What started as a creative outlet after hours quickly turned into late nights, custom orders, and something much bigger.
A year later, I made the leap, leaving the corporate world behind to build Daylin Skye full time. Every bag since has been handcrafted by me, with care and intention, in my California studio. I work with beautiful leathers and thoughtfully chosen materials to create pieces that feel elevated but effortless, bags that fit your life, not the other way around.
I grew up watching my dad, a preacher and a carpenter, build things and take on new ideas with determinatioin, always teaching me to take pride in the details, even the ones no one else would see. My mom, a professional cake decorator, brought beauty and creativity into everything she touched.
That blend of discipline and artistry is where I come from.
I'm a self-taught designer, drawn to clean lines, thoughtful design, and the kind of stitching that feels as good as it looks. I design all my own patterns, always chasing a sense of individuality and purpose in every piece I make.
For me, Daylin Skye is more than a brand, it’s personal. It’s about creating something honest, useful, and beautiful, something that quietly stands out because of how it’s made, not just how it looks.
In 2011, what began as a simple need for a bag, grew into my very first bag collection launched in July of 2012. I mixed bold fabrics with classic silhouettes, and before long, I found a small but loyal community of people who connected with what I was making. They appreciated the care that went into every stitch, and the beauty found both inside and out.
Over the years, my work has evolved. I now focus exclusively on premium leathers, refined details, and thoughtfully sourced hardware. Every piece is made by hand, right here in my Southern California studio. It’s a quiet space full of natural light, little messes, a lot of heart, and often, the company of my loyal doxies by my side.
This is what Daylin Skye is all about: intentional design, artisan quality, and that grounded luxury that only comes from something made slowly, with love.
